Frequently Asked Questions
What does “bondable” mean?
If you are “bondable,” it means that you will pass a criminal background check. The concept of part-time staff bonding is really an insurance matter relating to the Student Centre’s efforts to protect itself against wrongful acts committed by its staff.
Students who are hired to work in the Student Centre will be required to complete a criminal background form before being paid.
What does “Work Study approved” mean?
Students who are hired to work in the Student Centre will be required to complete a Work Study application before being paid. The application will involve completing a budget, outlining income and expenses for the upcoming semester. Through this process, students must demonstrate a financial need.
Work study approval will also be based on academics. New students must have an average of at least 60% per semester, with no course failures and must maintain full-time status. Returning students must have an average of at least 60% per semester, with no course failures and must maintain full-time status.
