My favourite things about Belleville
Being the home town of the Bulls.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy reading, going to the movies, playing video games, hanging out with friends and going out dancing.
My favourite place to hang out on campus
The Shark Tank Pub and Residence are both great places to just hang out on your free time.
Why I chose Loyalist/What attracted you to your program?
I did a lot of research and found out that Loyalist had a great Social Service Worker program that would allow me to transfer my credits to a variety of universities if ever I wanted to continue my education. I had also talked to a few students who had gone to Loyalist and heard about how worth it and great it was. I also went to the Open Jouse and had a chance to talk to my future professors and realized this was the best place for me.

My favourite Loyalist professor
I would say Paula Buskard. I have had her for two classes and really enjoy not only the way she teaches but also her personality and knowledge of areas that I am interested in. I find she is someone I could learn a lot from and she always makes class fun.
My favourite Loyalist class/Most interesting class taken so far
Health Psychology is the most interesting so far, I’ve learned a lot in my other classes but this one affects me directly and is challenging on a personal level for example, giving up caffeine for two weeks.

Vice-President, Student Life
"I ran for Vice-President because it is something I feel passionate about. I have talked to the Vice-President and feel very inspired by her. I am very interested in the Spirit Squad and all of the events at Loyalist and would enjoy being part of organizing them."
What advice do you have to offer students on staying balanced between their academic responsibilities and social life?
If you are well organized and can manage your time you will definitely have time for both. However you are here for a reason and paying for it as well, so I would suggest that you try your best with the academic responsibilities and make that your first priority.
Why I recommend Loyalist to other students?
It is a great place to be. There are many activities that allow you to relax and get your mind off the stressful academic responsibilities. It is a smaller college therefore smaller classes and a better chance to fully take away skills that are important to your future. Loyalist is filled with friendly people.
Why I enjoy getting involved with Spirit Squad?
Because it was a great way to meet new people and put my energy into something fun and useful. We get to go to games and just cheer as well as sometimes eat pizza and do face painting.

My post-graduate plans
I plan on working in a social service field either with group homes or the Children’s Aid Society. I am not sure where yet however I think I may work in the Belleville area for a few years.
